2008 Season - Week 12

Slowest to the Hall of Fame

Going into Sunday nights game Marcus had a real chance to make the Scoring Hall of Fame just a week after Dave G made it. He just needed Peyton Manning to throw 2 TD passes, 1 to Dallas Clark but although Peyton did throw 2 scores neither went to Dallas. However this did bring up an interesting stat, despite winning the Papas Fritas in 2001 Marcus has never been in the Hall of Fame. He joined the league in 1998 and so has gone 10 years and 12 weeks without scoring 50 points, that’s a total of 182 weeks! In week 2 of last year Mark H entered the Hall of Fame after just 2 weeks but that still isn’t the fastest. In week 1 of our inaugural season Chief scored 50 points and so set a record which can be equaled but never beaten. Strangely 4 owners made their debut in a week 1 and 4 in a week 17. See attached. It’s Getting Tighter At one point this week 4 of the 5 owners in the Conference were outside the Promotion zone. Meantime at the top David S had a 42 point lead just 3 weeks ago but since then the Virgins have got a little tight and is now just 9 points ahead of John B and the whole table is covered by just 19 points. In the Premiership Wayne has increased his lead slightly and is now 32 points ahead of Dave G but the action is for the final spot in the drop zone. Prior to the Monday Night Mark H was just 2 points above the relegation line, now he’s fourth. The 6 owners from Mark H to Daz (in the final drop spot) are covered by just 26 points Injured Reserve Two more Virgins join the BUMS as David S says goodbye to Felix Jones and Tom Santi who have both been placed on IR and he has replaced them with Charger Rookie RB Mike Tolbert and Jets Rookie TE Dustin Keller. Also in the Conference Marcus has a new RB as the Bucs put Earnest Graham on IR and Marcus has replaced him with Seahawk TJ Duckett. Remember it is up to each owner to alert the Commissioner if any of his players are put on IR (an NFL move which means that player cannot play any more this season). A good source of such information is www.nfl.com/transactions - look at it on Wednesday. BUMS on Seats. Tonight there are 3 games for Thanksgiving Day. Tennessee @ Detroit, Seattle @ Dallas and Arizona @ Philadelphia. For those who booked in for Cheryl’s Thanksgiving Feast we will start watching game 1 at 6.30pm with food scheduled for 7:30pm. On Sunday we will be back at HQ from 6pm for Sky’s doubleheader, New Orleans @ Tampa Bay followed by Atlanta @ San Diego with Carolina @ Green Bay and Denver @ The Jets on the red button.
